This is the only copy of this show that I know of...It does not exist in the DSO vault except for this copy which comes from the now-defunct DNC broadcast. This is from the DAT that DNC made during the show. I assume it was from their pipeline (ISDN or T1) from the venue and therefore subject to the applicable bitrate before being committed to 44.1 16bit DAT. The source sounds like audience mics although we sometimes fed the DNC a mix. Since we don't have a copy in the vault I'd imagine it's strictly DNC's venue microphones. What's wrong with this setlist? It never existed because the show was cancelled when Phil got sick.

Higher grounds is such a great venue. Saw DSO up there last year and it was spectacular, as was this show.

A Good Imitation
Do not pass go, do not collect this show and proceed directly to http://bt.etree.org/ and http://tmnsp.net to download the real thing. Go see DSO live if you want to dance to the DeadÂs music in the company of freaks, but shut up and dance, you can hear audience talk on this recording. The only reason to tape at a DSO is for practice and the chance that they play an original set list, like this show. IÂm streaming this show out of mere curiosity. I wanted to see if the Jerry imitator can sound as sweet as Jerry did in 1973 as he can sound like the gruff Jerry of the 80Âs. I gave it four stars for being a good imitation.

Thanks, Ed - The Best Show Never!
I've been on the trail of this show every since DSO rocked the Higher Ground 5/21/02. Far and away the hottest show I've seen yet. The band was on, the crowd was too. I wonder if the band was particularly enjoying recreating a show that never was - the setlist is pure 1973 gold, very authentic. The first set is very strong, from a sweet Cold Rain opener, a strong Race is On, and a lovely jammed out Bird Song into Johnny B Goode to close.
But the second set - my my - long, jammed, a full Weather Report Suite, a long summery Eyes, a pin-drop quiet Comes a Time into a ripping NFA- GDTRFB-NFA. We all left the old Higher Ground higher and ground. If you love DSO and '73 Dead, get this show!
